The founder
One person. All the work.
I am Rajesh. I have spent close to twenty years writing software, securing systems and advising founders. ProSeva is the part of that work I give away, to people whose work is service to others.
Who am I?
A programmer who has spent his working life close to the machine.
Not for the love of code alone, but for what careful thinking can build. I am drawn to problems that matter, the kind whose answer changes a direction and not just a detail.
For most of two decades I have built software that carries real weight, and then kept it standing. I have made systems secure early rather than patching them late, when it is far more expensive. I have sat with founders through the decisions that quietly decide whether a company lives or dies, and I have used AI and machine learning where it sharpens a real decision, never for show.
That is my paid work, and it will stay paid work. I keep my circle small and give each engagement my whole attention. The same discipline applies to ProSeva: I take up little, and I finish what I take up.
Somewhere along the way it became obvious that the people who most needed good digital work were the ones least able to pay for it. A trust feeding two hundred people a day. A doctor running free camps. A teacher coaching children whose parents cannot afford fees. All of them are doing the hard part already. The website, the search results, the small tools that would make their work easier to find and support, those I can do in my sleep. So I decided to do them, free, for the ones who serve.
What do I bring?
The same skills I am paid for, given without payment.
Systems built to last
Websites and applications engineered to hold up under load, growth and the quiet failures that test everything. Plain technology that the next person can maintain.
Security done early
Protection you never have to think about, because it is woven in from the start rather than bolted on after something goes wrong.
Cloud and infrastructure
Hosting, email, backups, domains and monitoring set up properly, documented, and handed over in your name.
Being found
Search, structured data and the signals that make Google and AI assistants describe you accurately when someone asks.
Intelligence, applied with care
AI and machine learning used only where they sharpen a real decision or save real hours, never for the spectacle of it.
Straight counsel
Clear thinking about what to build, what to skip, and what would waste your time. Honest, considered and free of the noise around it.
Why one person?
Because responsibility is clearer when there is nobody else to point to.
People sometimes ask why ProSeva does not take volunteers or build a team. The honest answer is that a team needs coordinating, and coordination is where free work usually goes to die. Someone promises, someone gets busy, and the trust that asked for help is left with a half-built site.
When it is only me, the promise is simple. If I say yes, I do the work. If I cannot, I say no early and explain why. There is no middle layer and nothing gets lost in between.
Small on purpose. Finished on purpose.
-
You talk to the person who builds it
No account manager, no hand-off between departments. The person who reads your request is the one who writes the code and hands it over.
-
Capacity is honest, so waiting is possible
I run a small number of engagements at a time. If I am full, I tell you when to check back, rather than starting something I cannot finish.
-
Not taking contributors, for now
If you are a professional who wants to give your skills, the best thing you can do is start in your own name, with one organisation near you. That is how this began.
Is ProSeva your full-time work?
No. My paid work continues alongside it, and that is what allows ProSeva to stay free. I set aside a fixed part of my time for seva, and I do not take on more than that time can carry.
Will you ever charge for this?
No. ProSeva's work and the tools it hosts are given free, and there is no paid tier waiting at the end. The only costs you will ever pay are third-party ones such as a domain name, and those are paid by you, in your name, so that you own them.
What happens to my work if you are unavailable?
Nothing breaks. Everything I build is in your name, on standard technology, with documentation, so any competent developer can pick it up. That is a deliberate rule, precisely because ProSeva is one person.
Can I hire you for paid work?
ProSeva is only for seva, and I keep the two strictly apart. Paid work has its own place, and this site is not it.
